SOMEDAY, COME SOON by oblio Someday’s for “asking out”, Sharing our names. Someday’s for jumping out… Of old picture frames. Someday’s for trading this desk job for a dream. Someday’s rekindling Sex-life and Self-esteem. All of this could be in our hands. All of this could be in our hands. Don’t sing along. Don’t sing along. Don’t say it with me. My hand beside hers… Someday, come soon. I heave a sigh and say “Someday, come soon.” Someday’s for praying, And finally getting answers. Someday writes novels, And pays career dancers. And someday’s got a vaccine… For every kind of illness. Someday pays debts and Builds homes for all the homeless. All of this could be in our hands. All of this could be in our hands. Don’t sing along. Don’t sing along. Don’t say it with me. Our hands are empty… Someday, come soon. Hope, Love, and Plenty… Someday, come soon. Sartre smiles because he knows this is our stop. But when will I get my self off of his bus? If all of this could be our hands. Sing along. Sing along. Say it with me: Our dreams, desires; Someday, come soon. I heave a sigh and say “Someday, come soon.”

SO, I TALKED TO MYSELF AGAIN... by oblio Part 1 When I woke up alone, I met a new man. Stare at myself, and ask how the weather has been. I have to learn how to like the one I’m stuck here with, I guess it’s something I’m not used to yet. Since she left me, and I got locked in. All I do is brood about… What it could’ve been. How it should’ve been. And I need to figure this out... So I talk to myself again. Talk to myself again, And again, and again, and I gain nothing… Part 2 I saw a neighbor looking inside waving and then, I realized I left the blinds wide open again. I shut them. I’m stocked up. The shadows that dance in the cave are made up. I don’t care. I am prepped for the end of the world. In the mirror things are clearer, You can’t hear the world at all. Every store near here is cleared out, We won’t last until the fall. But I can talk to myself again. Talk to myself again, Hoping then, at the end, maybe I’ll be my own friend. Part 3 Ive been in quarantine for years; I’m a pro... But there are bugs that follow you wherever you go. There used to be a reason to keep my own company, But now it's me, and my friends, and their friends, and their family, and the rest of the world, in here with me. It just keeps getting louder, And I can’t hear myself think. And I know I’ll lose my marbles, It wouldn’t be so bad on the brink, If I could hear myself think again. Hear myself think again. For a feeling, or a sign, or a minute’s peace of mind… I talked to myself again. I talk to myself again, And again, And again, And I gain nothing…

Perfection 05:55
PERFECTION by Blake Russell, Free Hallas, Jesse Russell, & Alex Strahle Bound by the dust, and she can't leave this cage. Torn from all lust, she wouldn't think to betray, no. Immune to imperfection, she sits on the gates, yeah. Accepted by rejectors, she's a social saint, yeah. ...and I believe... in her... Connection. Outstanding, she's outspoken, she knows how to talk to me. Flourishing and flowering, she'll make a lazy man walk a hundred miles. Pure as a mountain spring, her smile cleanses everything. Humble so as not to show, a voice so pure it melts the sky, When she sings… mmm to me. ...and I believe... in her... Correction. All my sins. All my sins. Her eyes are the torch-lights; you cannot hide your broken soul. When you burn too deep, she pulls you out of the coals. ...and I believe in her. I believe in her. I believe in her.

about

Why this EP? Why now? Quarantine does weird things to a band. I think in our case it did something beautiful. It gave us a reason to ask ourselves "Why not?" and just press that "RELEASE" button. These are four songs from various parts of our musical journey as a band, which have been brought to light because otherwise they might not have ever had their time to shine on a proper oblio "album". You could call them b-sides (and you wouldn't be wrong), but they mean too much to us to keep 'em forever on some forgotten hard drive. It's also no coincidence that the lyrical themes of these songs dance loosely around the subject of Quarantine, and this insane Covid-19 experience we're all going through together... We hope the songs won't be bound to those associations in the long-term, but for right now... maybe its better if they do?

Hope you all let these songs become a part of your Quarantine soundtrack. Love you guys. Stay hopeful. Stay creative. Stay tuned for Vol. 2 ;)
